7/28/2023 0 Comments Stayfocused wow![]() Seeing whether or not I’ve made progress keeps me focused on what I need to do get closer to my dreams. Doing weekly check-in’s helps keep me in check. If I knocked those goals out of the park– cool it’s time to turn up! If not, I know where I need to recalibrate and try again. Once the week is over I go back and look and see if I’ve made any progress. Then I write down the tasks I need to get done in order to accomplish those goals. It could be as simple as “I want to keep my apartment clean” to “I want to pitch 3 major sponsors for the podcast”. Do Weekly Check-In’s: Every Sunday afternoon I sit down with my planner and I write down my 3 major goals for the upcoming week. Put Do Not Disturb on and get some work done. You already know the insane amount of time you spend looking at that screen. Put Your Phone Down: I don’t even need to break this one down. Stop using her wins as your measuring stick. Focus on the thing God has placed in YOUR heart. Get into the habit of keeping your eyes on your own paper. While you’re busy focusing on what that other blogger, co-worker, church member, businesswoman is doing you could be out there crushing your very own goals. And guess what? It’s a major distraction. We spend so much time comparing our journeys to everybody and their momma. Keep Your Eyes On Your Own Paper: Oh yes girl, I am going there. The point is to set aside a block of time that you will dedicate to being solely focused on your goal and not letting yourself off the hook no matter what excuse you come up with. NO MATTER WHAT! Trying to get your finances in order? Maybe every day at 5 pm you can commit to going over your finances. Where in your goal chase can you make some non-negotiable work hours? Trying to create a healthier lifestyle? Maybe you can commit to Mondays + Wednesdays being days that you will spend an hour in the gym. I don’t care how tired I am or how late I stayed up the night before. Hail, sleet, rain or snow when that alarm goes off at the crack of dawn– I get right to work. So I made a commitment to myself to create time and wake up at 5:30a every single morning and get my dream work done. ![]() I was traveling on tour with a show and could not get all the things done. It’s a block of time that I commit to doing my dream work–NO MATTER WHAT! A couple of years ago I was struggling to find time to do NRJ work. Create Non-Negotiable Work Hours: One thing that helps me stay hyper-focused on my goals is having a set of non-negotiable working hours.
